Athene captures and collects performance data from target systems and provides applications that exploit this data for alert management, performance analysis, Oracle and SQL Server performance reporting, trend analysis and analytical modeling for individual servers or Client-Server networks. It provides analysis of current and recent system performance to identify and investigate problems as they are reported and identify what courses of action are required to restore service levels. Detailed 'Drill Down' facilities are available to analyze problems, plot trends and report on thousands of recorded metrics of system, database instance and session, user and command data. As well as capturing data natively, Athene can also interface with leading third-party systems management products such as Tivoli, HP Openview and CA Unicenter.
Athene can import data from any source for Automatic Performance Reporting and provides a common Enterprise Capacity Planning environment providing a rapid, consistent and confident means of predicting how systems will perform in a variety of changing business conditions.
Athene can provide the client with a fully automated server performance reporting system, requiring no user management or specific technical expertise to operate. All information is delivered by the client's choice of media in electronic, browser or printed form.
Athene includes Athene Advisor. Advisor provides intelligent performance reporting and trend analysis. Advisor provides users with a fast and convenient means of bringing anomalies to their attention and also gives an explanation of their likely cause. Advisor interprets reports with an indication of the results' divergence against the 'norm' and possible recommendations of actions to be taken. In effect Advisor is an 'instant consultant' giving regular performance audits with no personnel resource needed to generate them.
Extensive features specific to each operating system are built in to each variant to cater for architectural and internal systems software differences all presented through a common user interface.
